Your local Girl Scout service unit is looking for passionate volunteers!

Whether you can offer a few hours or a few months, your support at the troop or service unit level will make a huge difference. By volunteering, you'll gain a strong sense of purpose and community connection, all while helping young people develop new skills, build confidence, and become future leaders. Fill out the interest form or GSHighroads@gmail.com

Ready to join the fun of Girl Scouts

We're excited that your daughter is interested in becoming a Girl Scout! Please complete our interest form to get started. You can also text the word Girl Scouts to ‪(219) 237-4308‬.

We know how busy families are, so we'll do our best to match your daughter with a troop at her school or with one that fits your family's schedule.

Why should your daughter join Girl Scouts?

As a Girl Scout, she'll discover the power of girls working together, build confidence, and make lasting friendships. Through fun activities like field trips, sports clinics, and community service projects, she’ll grow into a courageous, strong, and confident young person.

A few things to know:

  • Girls from kindergarten to high school are welcome to join at any time.

  • We have troops at many schools in Griffith and Highland. If your daughter's school doesn't have an active troop, we'll assist in forming one.

  • Troops meet on various days, so we can find a schedule that works with your family's other activities.

  • Yes, we need your help! Anyone over 18 can register to be a volunteer.

If you have more questions, feel free to contact Yvette Jania via text at ‪(219) 237-4308‬ or email at gshighroads@gmail.com.

Join Girl Scouts in Highland or Griffith!

Please complete the interest form if your daughter is interested in Girl Scouts. You can also text the word Girl Scouts to  219-301-0230.   Please note a girl can join anytime.  We want to match your daughter with a troop at her school or that meets when your family is available.

Why join Girl Scouts?

As Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Girls grow courageous and strong through various enriching experiences, such as field trips, skill-building sports clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardship.

Is there a Girl Scout Troop at my daughter's school?

We have troops at many of the schools in Griffith and Highland. We place or form troops at your daughter's school. Since many girls are involved in sports and other activities, we sometimes form troops by age and availability.

What if my daughter is involved in other activities?

We have troops with meetings on various days.

What is the age range for Girl Scouts?

Kindergarten to High School. Yes, we have three troops of High School girls!

Can I help with my daughter's troop?
