Oriental Institute
The Oriental Institute is part of the University of Chicago's research center for ancient Near Eastern Studies. The museum has world-renowned collection of art and archaeology from the civilizations of ancient Egypt, Nubia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria and more. Admission is FREE (with a suggested donation), and exploring the exhibit galleries is a great weekend activity for history enthusiasts, or junior archaeologists with their entire family, to enjoy.The University of Chicago campus is a great free place to roam around.

Welcome to the Highroads Service Unit Girl Scout website! This site is to assist girls and their parents interested in scouting with information, and our Highroads Girl Scouts with information about meetings, service unit events and other important information and dates.
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as field trips, skill-building clinics, cultural exchanges, environmental stewardship and camping, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill and respect; develop values to guide their actions; provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
The Highroads Service Unit serves Highland & Griffith, Indiana. We have girls that attend a variety of local schools including but not limited to the following:
